Important research perspectives are opened by the identification
of functional markers that play a causative role in the development
and progression of human colorectal cancer and which are targets
or able to favour the activity of anticancer agents. Among the
putative prognostic markers recently proposed, considerable attention
has been received by the synchronous expression of more than one
gene products. In ths article, we review a panel of immunohistochemical
markers the prognostic value of which was evaluated in patients
with colorectal neoplasms.
Key words: Immunohistochemistry, colorectal neoplasia,
prognosis.
