A case of cystosarcoma phyllodes harboring intraductal carcinoma,
in a 40 year old woman, is presented. The stromal compoment of
the neoplasm was diagnosed as a low grade malignant phyllodes
tumor. The transformation of the epipthelium was parallel ranged
from atypical hyperplasia to ductal carcinoma in situ. In the
setting of a cystosarcoma phyllodes this malignant epithelial
change, especially in the form of intraductal carcinoma, is a
very rare event. Due to lack of experience regarding the management
of these combined lesions, it is proposed that the treatment should
be individualised.
Key words: Breast, Intraductal carcinoma, Cystosarcoma
