Papillary oxyphilic (Hürthle) cell carcinoma of the thyroid with lymphocytic stroma

Papillary Hürthle cell carcinoma with lymphocytic stroma is a rare variant of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland. The histological features are similar to those of papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum or Warthin's tumor of the salivary gland. We report two cases of this unusual variant of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid and we present a brief review of the relevant literature.
