Metaplastic carcinomas of the mammary gland constitute a heterogenous group of neoplasms including squamous cell carcinoma of ductal origin, a neoplasm distinct from squamous carcinoma arising from the overlying skin. Metaplastic squamous cell carcinoma is a rare type of invasive breast carcinoma with small number of references in the literature. We describe a case of metaplastic squamous carcinoma in a 47-year-old woman, emphasizing on the immunohistochemical findings of this entity.

Key words: Metaplastic squamous carcinoma breast.
