Tsobanidou Ch.
Pathology Department of Theagenio Anticancer Institute Thessaloniki, Greece

Myxoid liposarcoma is a subtype of liposarcoma which is composed of oval shaped primitive non-lipogenic mesenchymal cells and lipoblasts in a myxoid stroma with branching vascular pattern. We present the case of a 43 year-old woman with a tumor within the musculature of the right thigh. Histologic examination of the resected tumor revealed a myxoid liposarcoma grade 2. Three years after excision there is no evidence of tumor relapse or metastasis.

Key words: Myxoid liposarcoma.
