A retrospective study was undertaken on 38 cases of primary gastric malignant lymphoma, diagnosed in our hospital between 1985-1995: on 28 gastric biopsies and 10 gastrectomy specimens. We present the clinocopathological features of all cases based on clinical history, morphological and immunohistochemical findings. 63% of all gastric lymphomas were of MALT-type, 15 of which were of low grade malignancy and in 9 cases transformation to higher grade was observed. A high incidence of H. Pylori (70,58%) may be relevant to the pathogenesis of gastric MALT-lymphomas.
Key words: Stomach, MALT, Lymphoma, Helicobacter Pylori
