Myxoid liposarcoma of the small intestine manifested with acute abdomen

We report the case of a 35-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital with diffuse abdominal pain due to obstructive ileum. The patient was operated for acute abdomen and a large tumour of the ileum was found located 1.5 m from the ileocaecal valve. The tumor was resected. ิhe histological examination revealed a myxoid type liposarcoma. The patient recovered uneventfully and remains asymptomatic three months after the operation.

The pathology of the liposarcomas of the small intestine is discussed.
