Two rare cases of intrathyroid (branchial) cysts are reported, that developed in two women patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and nodular goitre. Both cysts were grossly evident, were diagnosed as cystic or cold nodule in the U/S and presented the typical morphology of the common cervical lymphoepithelial cysts. Their probable histogenesis is discussed and a review of the literature is made.

Key words: Thyroid cyst, lympho-epithelial cyst, branchial cyst.
