Metastatic malignant melanoma from unknown primary site

Metastatic melanoma without a known primary site is well documented in the literature and relatively unusual with an incidence of 2-6%. Éts aetiology remains unclear. We hereby present a case of lymph node metastasis of melanoma in a 65 year old patient with no evidence of primary lesion. Íew metastatic lesions to the skull and small intestine appeared 16 and 21 months respectively after diagnosis. The patient died 37 months after initial diagnosis without evidence of primary tumor.
