Appendicitis due to Helicobacter jejuni infection An 8 year old boy with recurrent abdominal pain and Helicobacter pylori gastritis with malaise, weakness, anorexia and severe weight loss was treated with omeprazole, amoxicilline and metronidazole. Due to worsening of the symptoms an exploratory laparotomy was carried out and appendicectomy was performed. Histologic findings of the appendix are shown in the figures below. |
